Psalm 91 (NLT)

Security of the One Who Trusts in the Lord.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

Beloved,

What a gift we have today through Jesus! We have the ability to rest in the shelter of the Most High. We can now and forever dwell in the Holy of Holies all because of the finished work of Jesus. On the cross with Jesus last breath the veil was torn in the Holy of Holies and we can now boldly come before our Abba Father with praise, worship, and thanksgiving. Let us declare like in Psalm 91 “The Lord is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him!” Our Abba had a plan from the beginning. He sent his wonderful son Jesus to redeem us from the law of sin and death. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. I love how the gift of eternal life is only the icing on the cake. Abba and Jesus care about every part of us including our needs, health, wealth, and family to name a few. He faithfully promises in Psalm 91 to rescue, cover, shelter, and armor us. As we live in the shelter of the Most High we don’t have to fear the terror of the night, obstacles, disease, disaster, and death. As Jesus is so are we in the world. No evil can conquer us, but, that does not be mean trouble will never come our way. Jesus foretold us of the what will come but we can take heart because he has overcome the world. As we continue to trust and build our faith on the foundation of Jesus, Abba will command his angels charge over us to protect us wherever we go. As we call on our loving King he promises in Psalm 91 to rescue, protect, be by our side, honor, reward, and give us his salvation. Abba and Jesus diligently watch and listen for His word to perform it. Let the words in our mouth continue to bring life and a life more abundantly as he promised.

I pray that you will see our King as the faithful protector, redeemer, and rewarder. May your eyes be open to see and experience each act of his love. In Jesus Name Amen!
