Psalm 34 (NJKV)

The Happiness of Those Who Trust in God

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Beloved,

How wonderful is our savior Jesus! Let us continually praise the Lord for he is worthy of it all. From Abba and Jesus are all things and to Him are all things. Let our praise be like an incense a sweet aroma laid in front of our Heavenly Father and King. It is such a blessing to know we are heard and Abba and Jesus always listen. Through His perfect love we are freed from all of our fears and worries. What a promise we are given through Jesus. Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance as joint heirs with Jesus and everlasting joy will be yours. The Angel of the Lord our Jesus protects us as a good shepherd. He is always with us, surrounding us, and protecting us who fear him. When we fear the Lord is to be with awe-inspired reverence and worship Him with obedience.

In Psalm 34, David said taste and see that the Lord is good. Today we are privileged to partake in the holy communion as often as we please. We get to take the body and blood of Jesus and remember all that he has finished for us. Through Jesus we lack no good thing. How wonderful it is that Abba and Jesus ways are higher than our ways and thoughts higher than our thoughts. Even in Psalm 139 it reminds us, “How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand.” We are constantly on Jesus and Abba’s mind. We are the apple of His eye, his beloved children, and his masterpiece.

In Psalm 34, David gives us the secret to seeing many good days and having a long life that our Abba ordained “Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.” As we keep our eyes on Jesus he will transform you from the inside out changing your ways and old habits. He will deliver us from many afflictions that will come upon us who are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Be comforted today, no matter what you may be going through: stress, depression, discouragement, and even heartache know that our savior Jesus is near to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We can take heart every day knowing Jesus has overcome the world and He hears the righteous cry.

Let us continually be servants for the Lord and no shame or condemnation shall fall upon us. The promise to Abram is ours to claim, “I will bless you, and make your name great, and you shall be a blessing, and I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you” (Genesis 12:2-3). Let us be reminded how blessed and favored we are, “Blessed and favored by God are those who keep his testimonies, and who seek Him and long for Him with all their heart. They do no unrighteousness; They walk in His ways” (Psalm 119:2-3). Let us continually seek the Lord with all our hearts and trust him. When we say we trust God it releases his power to work in our lives. As David advised us lets speak life over ourselves and those around us to see many good days.

I pray that the eyes of the Lord are toward you and that you will see yourself protected and victorious as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Amen!
