Philippians 4:6 (MSG)

Don't Worry, Pray

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

Beloved,

Everything in this life is comprised of choices. Life can be unpredictable and with that unpredictability we are to choose how we will proceed and in what direction we want to go. It is easy to fret and be worried especially when things are not going your way or how you thought. A pastor once said you can not be happy when things happen to happen the way you did not want them to happen. But you can be happy when things happen to happen the way you want them to happen. We can not choose the outcome of our circumstances but we can choose to trust Abba and Jesus. We can choose to believe they are working all things together for our good. We can choose to trust His timing and not rush into works of the flesh. Our Abba and Jesus made promises to us:

  1. “Be determined and confident. Do not be afraid of them. Your God, the Lord himself, will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.”” Deuteronomy 31:6 GNT

  2. “We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 GNT

  3. ““Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”” Psalm 46:10 ESV

  4. ““Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” John 14:1 ESV

  5. “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 ESV

  6. “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” Psalms 55:22 NIV

  7. “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalms 23:6 NIV

  8. ““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.””Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV

  9. “For His lovingkindness prevails over us [and we triumph and overcome through Him], And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)” Psalms 117:2 AMP

  10. “No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17 AMP

The scriptures above are not only for those centuries ago but are alive and true for us today. As we meditate on His word and focus our eyes on Him we can overcome anything and everything. Jesus said in John 16:33, ““I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]” In every circumstance we will be victorious as we trust and rely on Abba and Jesus.

The challenges of life may not make sense and can be an inconvenience, but we have a choice. Let us show ourselves as children of the Most High God. In Matthew 5:45 Jesus preached on the Mount and said, “so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” We will all have trials and tribulations. Even I have to be reminded in a trial to be still and know the He is God. Our flesh will easily want to fix the situation, come up with a solution, hurry to get it resolved but we are missing what He is doing. We can not do everything in our own strength and might. When we fuss, stress, and fight on our own it hurts ourselves.

Our Abba and Jesus are gentleman’s. When we work, He rests. When we rest, He works. We must abide in Abba and Jesus and rely on his peace. Jesus said in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” I have never seen a fruit struggle and strive on a vine. It relaxes and takes in what it needs from the vine. Let us relax and take in what we need from Jesus for He is ready and able to give exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask, think, or imagine. Lay your worries at his feet in prayer and watch Him do the miraculous in your life.

I pray that you will rest in Jesus today and everyday. I pray that you would lay down all concerns and let Him fight your battles. I pray that you will be reminded always you are in victory and will be victorious through ever circumstance. Abba and Jesus will turn everything around for your good. In Jesus Name. Amen!
