‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)

God's Commission

“No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Beloved,

The promise for Joshua applies to us today. We have a loving and faithful Heavenly Father and Savior that will never leave us nor forsake us. No matter what stage of life we may be walking through we are never alone. The temporary circumstances can make you feel that our God is far from you but He is not. He is as close as the air we breathe. It is reassuring to know the one who knows everything. It is comforting to be fully known by Him. He sees where you are and where you are going. He saw the situations of the past and gave us the strength to keep on. He knows the reason and answer for everything but only shares some of it with us. Rest assured today that you don’t need to know everything because you trust the one who does. Let’s meditate on His word that gives us courage and strength. He wants to make our way prosperous and successful as we do.

Through Jesus we have an ever present God and the Holy Spirit in us and with us always. Jesus said in Matthew 5:45, the rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous. We may not be delivered from everything we pray for but we do have Abba and Jesus who will walk us through everything. This is present in the life of Job, Paul, and Daniel. Job was tested and lost everything. But after suffering for a little while, he was restored and received a double portion for all he lost. Paul prayed eagerly three times to the Lord to remove the thorn from his flesh and our Father said, His grace is sufficient for him. In the end Paul said it was good that he was inflicted and the infliction was to humble him. Daniel called on the Lord in a time where his people need an answer and deliverance. He did not stop praying and fasting until the Angel Gabriel came to explain all things. Can you see how our Savior is present and listens to us. He heard Paul and Daniel the first time they prayed. But still Paul and Daniel prayed continually. Rest assured that our God may not answer us the first time we call but he did hear you and listened to your petition. He is always moving and working on your behalf and only wants the best for us even when it doesn’t seem or feel that way at first. As iron sharpens iron He is sharpening us, proving us, and molding us into who He called us to be. During these circumstances our God is always present and He will always be present for you even if you do not feel Him or understand.

So no matter where you are or where you are going our God is with you. Just like Joshua, if you are entering a new stage of your life that requires going into the unknown and leadership do not let your heart be troubled. Just like Job, if you have unexpectedly lost everything you love, hold dear, and own… know today that He will give you beauty for ashes and joy for mourning. He will restore a double portion for the trouble you walked through and will comfort you each step you take as you reach what He has promised you in His Word. Just like Paul, if you have prayed continually and haven’t received your answer know that Abba and Jesus hear you and are working on your behalf. Allow Him to humble you as you wait on Him for the answer is on the way and will come. Just like Daniel, if you are petitioning for your loved ones and yourself for answers do not cease in praying. I want us to take a closer look at what the Angel Gabriel said to Daniel. In Daniel 10:12-14, the Angel Gabriel came to Daniel and said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia. Now I am here to explain what will happen…” Beloved, there is no power or principality that will stop the words of the Lord from reaching you. The answer is always on the way and all of Heaven hears you when you pray.

I pray that the life stories of Job, Daniel, and Paul lift you up and encourage you where you are today. You are dearly loved by our Abba Father and Jesus and they will always be with you. Your voice and presence is longed for and desired by our creator who only wants our trust, belief, and fellowship with Him. Lean in close and believe today and always He sees you, He hears you, He is with you, and He loves you. In Jesus Name. Amen!
