Isaiah 26:3 (AMP)

You Keep Him in Perfect Peace

“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].”

Beloved,

Our God is a good God. He can make ways where there seems to be no way. Even in the storms, our Jesus can bring us back to perfect peace. In Psalms 107:28-30 the psalmist said, “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses. He hushed the storm to a gentle whisper, So that the waves of the sea were still. Then they were glad because of the calm, And He guided them to their desired haven (harbor).” It is beautiful to find Jesus in all of the scriptures. Our savior Jesus is hidden in the Old Testament and revealed in the New Testament. In Mark 4, Jesus told his disciples, “Let us go to the other side”. As they went a fierce windstorm began to blow and the waves were breaking over the boat. The scriptures says in Mark 4:38-40, “But Jesus was in the stern, asleep [with His head] on the [sailor’s leather] cushion. And they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are about to die?” And He got up and [sternly] rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still (muzzled)!” And the wind died down [as if it had grown weary] and there was [at once] a great calm [a perfect peacefulness]. Jesus said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith and confidence [in Me]?” Do you see the love of our Jesus. The psalmist spoke of Jesus before the event happened in Mark 4. We like the disciples can become fearful of the circumstances based on how they may seem, but Jesus, can silence the storm and what He speaks will come to pass in our lives. Jesus said, “Let us go to the other side” and He even says that to us today. Let us have faith and believe that He would not bring us this far to leave us. Let us have faith that he will protect us and provide for us. We should be like Jesus, calm and rest in Him just like He rested on the boat not concerned for what was going on around Him.

Only Jesus can keep us in perfect and constant peace. As we focus on Him and come into agreement with Him we can do anything and everything through Him. Just like Peter in Matthew 14 we can do anything as long as we focus on Jesus and trust him. In Matthew 14, Jesus told the disciples to go ahead of him to the other side. As they did they the boat was battered by the waves again and Jesus came to them walking on the water. In Matthew 14:28-31, the scriptures says, “Peter replied to Him, “Lord, if it is [really] You, command me to come to You on the water.” He said, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw [the effects of] the wind, he was frightened, and he began to sink, and he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus extended His hand and caught him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Do you see how immediately Jesus extended his hand and caught Peter. Even though Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, Jesus never took his eyes off of Peter and was still walking toward him. Let us not get distracted by the lies, the circumstances, or even the mistakes. Jesus is so near to us and keeps His eyes on us. He intercedes for us and gave His life for us because He love us so much. Be encouraged today you are never alone or forgotten, even if you think He may be sleeping, you can always cry out in faith and believe He will answer you.

I pray that your eyes are opened to see Jesus throughout the scriptures. May the eyes of your heart be flooded with light so that you may know the hope of your calling in Him and grow in the truth of His love for you. In Jesus Name. Amen
