2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:10‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)

A Thorn in the Flesh

“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Beloved,


There is so much power in humility. Let us become humble, open, and transparent with our Abba Father and Jesus. We all go through difficulties. These difficulties can be brought to us or even of our own doing. In 2 Corinthians 12 Paul discusses how he has a thorn in his flesh. Our first response like Paul should be to pray about it. We should have a conversation with our Abba Father and Jesus. It is written in Philippians 4:6, in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. It is so important for us to tell Abba what we are thinking and feeling. The way we view God is the way we will have a relationship with Him. Believe today that He cares about everything you care about. He wants to intervene and step in, only if you allow Him. We cannot hide from Him our feelings and emotions. Abba gave us our emotions and feelings to be able to understand and express ourselves and to understand and empathize with others. Once we bring these prayers and conversations before Him, He can move on our behalf.


There are times the situation does not change and the Lord does not answer our prayer the way we want Him to answer it. This is the beauty of our Abba Father and Jesus. He can see the greater picture and His ways are so much higher than our own. I pray we will have the same spirit as Paul to know that the Lords grace is sufficient for us. The Lord is doing a work in and through us which is why the change has not come. Our Abba Father is so good, He will not leave us the same way and He will not allow a situation or thorn to stop our destiny. He wants us to grow through adversity. He wants us to rejoice even when the situation is not fair. He wants to transform our character even when we do not realize we have things hidden deep inside us that are hindering us. In the difficulty, the weakness, adversity, hardship, and unfair situations talk to Him. He wants us to draw our strength from Him for anything and everything. Once you lay down your prayers, thoughts, and feelings to Abba and Jesus, He will wash over you changing your heart and mind. Jesus paid the price and promised us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Let us allow His love and strength today to transform us and when we do, we will boast like Paul in our weakness knowing that our Abba and Jesus will work everything together for our good even when it doesn’t feel good.


I pray that you will discuss anything and everything with Abba and Jesus. I pray that your view of who He is will change and your relationship with Him will grow. I pray that you will develop a spirit like Paul and know that Abba, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit is with you always! In Jesus Name. Amen!
